A partnership between Ciputra Healthcare and Singapore Medical Group (SMG), Ciputra SMG Eye Clinic Bali is strengthening its eye care services with the introduction of cataract surgery using the New CENTURION® Vision System by Alcon and the ZEISS OPMI LUMERA 700 surgical microscope.
These technologies support surgeons with advanced capabilities during eye procedures, including detailed visualisation and precise surgical control. The expanded service is designed to provide patients with more comprehensive treatment options based on their individual eye conditions.
Dr. Ni Kompyang Rahayu, Sp.M(K), Head Doctor and Ophthalmologist at Ciputra SMG Eye Clinic Bali, emphasised that cataracts are not a condition exclusive to older people.
“Cataracts are not only caused by ageing. Young people and even babies can also develop the condition. If your vision, which was previously clear, suddenly becomes cloudy or blurred, you should have your eyes examined,” Dr. Rahayu said.
The clinic also offers SMILE PRO Flapless LASIK using the ZEISS VisuMax 800. The laser treatment takes approximately eight seconds per eye, providing a minimally invasive option for eligible patients seeking vision correction.

William Ciputra, General Manager of Ciputra Group, said that 10 places had been filled at the time of the announcement, leaving the programme open to further eligible candidates.
“We know that today we have only filled 10 slots, even though we can accommodate up to 50. This initiative is still ongoing, and we can accept more people as long as they meet the requirements. I encourage anyone who needs cataract treatment to come to us. We can conduct an assessment and, if all the requirements are met, proceed with the treatment,” William said.
The clinic is encouraging the public to help identify people who may need cataract surgery, including family members, neighbours and others in their communities.
Recommendations can be submitted following information shared through the clinic’s Instagram account, @lasikindonesia.bali. Prospective recipients will undergo an assessment to determine whether they meet the programme’s requirements.

“LASIK results are semi-permanent. They depend on our daily activities, lifestyle and screen-time exposure,” Dr. Novi said.
