Mangupura, Baliwakenews.com – Oktoberfest is getting a distinctly Balinese twist at Four Points by Sheraton Bali, Seminyak, where German beer culture meets the rich flavours of the Island of the Gods through the Balinese Feast × Beer Flight experience.

Held at Above Rooftop Lounge & Bar, the October celebration brings together a selection of beers with authentic Balinese dishes, offering guests a different way to discover Bali through food, local ingredients and a relaxed sunset setting.

Franklyn Kocek, Multi-Property General Manager of Four Points by Sheraton Bali, Seminyak and Fairfield by Marriott Bali, South Kuta, said the concept is part of the hotel’s Best Brews program, which seeks to connect guests with local destinations through beer and culinary experiences.

“Because we are on the island of Bali, of course we want to highlight our destination. Bali is very rich with many food choices,” Franklyn said.

One of the highlights is the pairing of beer with Kue Putu, a traditional Balinese snack that is rarely featured in this type of dining experience. The combination demonstrates how local dishes can be presented alongside beverages in a fresh and unexpected way.

The Oktoberfest program is held every Saturday throughout October and is open not only to hotel guests but also to the general public.

“Everyone is welcome. Whether they are staying with us or not, we are very happy to welcome them to Four Points by Sheraton Seminyak,” he added.

The experience takes place exclusively at the rooftop, which offers a 270-degree view and an unobstructed setting for guests to enjoy the sunset over Petitenget Beach.

The rooftop can accommodate around 60 guests in a seated setting, while its standing-party capacity can accommodate more visitors.

For Four Points Seminyak, however, the experience is about more than simply pairing beer with food. It is also part of the hotel’s commitment to showcasing local products and supporting the identity of Bali as a culinary destination.

“Because we are in Bali, we always look at what exists within this destination. Four Points Seminyak is in Bali, so we want to highlight Balinese food, local products and UMKM,” Franklyn explained.

The dishes served during the experience use ingredients sourced from Bali, reinforcing the hotel’s focus on local flavours and authentic culinary character.

Franklyn also believes Bali’s cuisine has significant potential to gain greater international recognition.

“Balinese food is actually abundant and delicious, rich with spices. We want to highlight that people coming to Bali should also try the local food,” he said.

Among the dishes he highlighted were Ayam Betutu, known for its rich blend of spices, and Balinese satay, both of which he believes deserve to be introduced more widely to international visitors.

The beer pairing itself features three selections, there are San Miguel Light, El Diablo IPA, and Kura-Kura Island Ale, each matched with different stages of the Balinese-inspired menu.

San Miguel Light, with its light and crisp character, is paired with appetizers including Sate Be Pasih and Urutan Babi. El Diablo IPA, known for its hoppy and aromatic profile, accompanies main courses such as Ayam Betutu Panggang, Balinese Pork Belly and Tum Be Pasih.

For dessert, Kura-Kura Island Ale brings a tropical and fruity character to the pairing, complementing Kue Putu and its flavours of coconut, palm sugar and mango.

The program is also designed to evolve, particularly through the exploration of local beverages.

Franklyn said the hotel sees growing potential in Bali’s craft beer industry and hopes more locally produced beverages can be introduced into future culinary experiences.

“We have started to see many craft beers emerging, especially from Bali. As Four Points, we also want to see more local flavours from Bali’s beverage scene being highlighted,” he said.

With live acoustic music accompanying the experience each Saturday, the Balinese Feast × Beer Flight offers guests more than a conventional Oktoberfest celebration: it brings together beer, Balinese cuisine, local products and the island’s sunset atmosphere in one rooftop experience.

The Balinese Feast × Beer Flight is available every Saturday in October — October 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31, 2026 — from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. WITA at Above Rooftop Lounge & Bar, Four Points by Sheraton Bali, Seminyak.

The experience is priced at IDR 350,000 per person, excluding tax and service charge. Reservations are required at least one day in advance via +62 811-3831-5070. BWN-07
