Baliwakenews.com — Digital advertising in Indonesia is entering a new era as V2 Indonesia earns a Museum Rekor Dunia Indonesia (MURI) record for the country’s first LED videotron with fully integrated, trained artificial intelligence (AI), installed at Mal Bali Galeria.
The recognition, presented on October 9, 2026, marks V2 Indonesia’s second MURI achievement, following its February 2026 record for the largest flying LED screen. The latest innovation transforms conventional digital out-of-home (DOOH) advertising into a context-aware platform that selects advertisements based on real-time weather, time of day and traffic conditions.
Unlike traditional digital billboards that follow fixed advertising schedules, the AI-powered system adapts its content to changing surroundings. Cold beverage advertisements, for example, can be prioritized during hot weather, while food delivery promotions may appear when it rains.
During traffic congestion, the screen can display localized messages such as “Sabar ya, Denpasar,” bringing a more relatable touch to outdoor advertising.
“We believe it is time for competition in LED videotron DOOH to move beyond the biggest screen toward the smartest technology,” said Rudi Hidayat, CEO of V2 Indonesia.
“The future will be determined by how intelligently DOOH understands context, learns and adapts to deliver relevant content and drive business growth,” he added.

From Smart Advertising to Measurable Audience Response
The system integrates AI into several stages of the advertising process, from analyzing campaign materials and selecting suitable content to generating promotional landing pages and measuring audience engagement through QR codes.
Using a Large Language Model (LLM), the platform evaluates advertisements against eight defined environmental conditions, including morning, daytime, intense heat, sunset, nighttime, rain and traffic congestion, including congestion during rainfall.
Weather data is refreshed every five minutes, while traffic information is updated periodically. The system also incorporates safeguards to prevent excessive content changes, switching advertisements between clips to ensure uninterrupted playback.
Advertisers can assess audience responses through QR code scans, with the collected data analyzed to help evaluate campaign effectiveness under different conditions. This approach allows DOOH advertising to function not only as a communication channel but also as a data-driven marketing tool.
Nearly 50-Metre Screen Powered by AI
The installation at Mal Bali Galeria measures approximately 49.9 metres wide and 4.8 metres high, with a physical resolution of 12,480 by 1,200 pixels. Its ultra-wide format accommodates multiple content elements, including advertisements, QR codes, contextual messages, live temperature and weather information, traffic updates, sunset times and scrolling text.
A mini PC installed on-site processes contextual information and AI assessments to determine which advertisements should appear. The system is also designed to continue playing locally stored content during internet disruptions, while campaign management, playlists, approvals and monitoring are handled through a web-based dashboard.
V2 Indonesia has implemented a two-person approval mechanism for changes to screen content. Advertising materials are reviewed before publication, and operators retain the ability to override the system at any time.
Privacy is another consideration. The platform uses contextual information about weather, time and traffic without relying on cameras or personal data to determine which advertisements are displayed.
Developed In-House with Cloud AI Support
The technology was developed by V2 Indonesia’s internal technology team, covering the playback software, decision-making logic, management dashboard and content studio. Alibaba Cloud and Typesafe AI support the company’s AI model and cloud infrastructure.
The company also cites Reinforcement Learning for Calibrated Decisions (RLCD) as part of its development approach, distinguishing its system from conventional automation by emphasizing contextual assessment before content selection.
MURI President Director Aylawati Sarwono praised the achievement as an example of how technology and creativity can reshape outdoor media.
“By combining technology, creativity and the courage to innovate, V2 has introduced an LED videotron powered by trained artificial intelligence that understands context and selects relevant content,” Aylawati said.
She described the innovation as a step toward a smarter, more adaptive and more meaningful future for outdoor advertising.
Andry M. Sitania, General Manager of Mal Bali Galeria, also welcomed the recognition, expressing hope that the achievement would inspire further technological breakthroughs and contribute to Indonesia’s development.
Expanding the Future of Digital Out-of-Home Advertising
The innovation could offer benefits for audiences, advertisers and outdoor media operators alike. Consumers receive messages that better reflect their surroundings, brands gain opportunities to reach audiences at more relevant moments, and media operators can manage campaigns through an integrated platform with human oversight.
Fabianus Bernadi, chairman of the Indonesian Out-of-Home Media Companies Association (AMLI), said V2 Indonesia’s innovation opens new possibilities for the DOOH industry by demonstrating how trained AI can transform the value chain of outdoor advertising and create new business opportunities.
He also linked the development to the strategic direction promoted through the recently held Strategic Forum INDOOH 2026 at JIExpo Kemayoran.
Looking ahead, V2 Indonesia plans to expand AI applications across indoor and outdoor digital signage and develop an interconnected network of AI-powered videotrons that can communicate with one another and support a more integrated advertising platform.
With its latest MURI record, V2 Indonesia is positioning contextual intelligence as the next frontier of digital outdoor advertising in Indonesia, shifting the industry’s focus from screen size alone to the intelligence behind the content. BWN-07
