Denpasar, Baliwakenews.com — Beauty lovers can enjoy 20% off all items until Sunday, October 11, 2026, as Balinese botanical beauty brand Utama Spice celebrates the opening of its first mall-based pop-up store in Bali at ICON Bali, Sanur.
Opening on Friday, October 9, the pop-up store is located at ICON Bali on Jalan Danau Tamblingan, South Denpasar, and will operate until April 2027.
The store introduces shoppers to a curated selection of Utama Spice’s best-selling products and selected items, bringing the brand’s nature-inspired skincare and body care closer to visitors in one of the island’s prominent shopping destinations.
“We are very excited to enter ICON Bali. This is our first mall store in Bali, and we wanted to bring our products into a setting that reflects our brand’s identity and values,” said Ria Templer, Director of Utama Spice.
Rather than presenting its entire product range, Utama Spice has selected customer favourites alongside newer innovations, giving visitors an opportunity to explore its botanical approach to everyday personal care.
Probiotic Deodorant Leads the Line-Up
Among the featured products is Utama Spice’s probiotic roll-on deodorant, an innovation designed to help neutralise body odour while supporting the skin’s natural balance. Formulated with probiotic ferments, the deodorant targets odour at its source without blocking perspiration.
One of the variants, Nayla, combines soft floral notes with warm, comforting undertones to create a gentle, feminine fragrance suited to everyday use.
The product reflects a growing interest in personal care that focuses not only on fragrance but also on skin-conscious formulations and a more considered approach to daily routines.
Beyond its featured probiotic deodorant, Utama Spice offers a diverse range of botanical personal care and wellness products, spanning facial skincare, body care, hair care and aromatherapy.
Its collection includes face serums, facial cleansers, natural oils, lip balms, body lotions, body butters, massage oils, shampoos, hair oils and essential oils. The brand also offers natural incense, room and body mists, diffusers, yoga mat sprays and natural insect-repellent products, reflecting its approach to incorporating plant-based ingredients into everyday self-care rituals.

Beauty with a Purpose Beyond the Bottle
Utama Spice’s commitment to sustainability extends beyond its formulations. Since May 2026, the brand has partnered with Sungai Watch, a Bali-based organisation working to address river pollution and plastic waste.
Through the collaboration, every bottle purchased from Utama Spice corresponds to the removal of four additional bottles from the natural environment, connecting everyday beauty purchases with tangible efforts to reduce plastic pollution.
The brand is also strengthening its relationship with Indonesia’s natural resources through a strategic partnership with Forestwise, a social enterprise working with forest communities and sustainable rainforest ingredients from Kalimantan.
One ingredient gaining attention is illipe butter, also known as tengkawang butter, sourced from the wild Shorea stenoptera tree. The tree produces fruit approximately once every three years, making the ingredient a distinctive addition to sustainable botanical formulations.
Utama Spice incorporates illipe butter into selected body care products, including its Pure Energy Body Butter. The partnership aims to support rainforest conservation while creating economic opportunities for Indigenous Dayak communities involved in wild harvesting.
By connecting product development with responsible sourcing, the brand seeks to demonstrate how beauty and personal care can contribute to a broader conversation about environmental stewardship and community empowerment.
A Compact Store with a Distinctly Balinese Identity
The new pop-up store was developed in collaboration with Michel Boon, Managing and Creative Director of BAM by Boon, with a design approach that translates Utama Spice’s evolving visual identity into a compact retail space of approximately seven square metres.
The challenge was to make the small footprint feel welcoming and functional while allowing the products to take centre stage. Lighting, storage and the arrangement of displays were carefully considered to maximise the available space.
“We are honoured to work with Utama Spice. We grew up in Bali, and we want our work to have a positive impact. For this store, we wanted the space to reflect the brand, its values and its Indonesian identity, while allowing the products to really shine,” Boon said.
Natural materials, including rattan, complement the store’s colours and branding, while Balinese cultural details reinforce the heritage of a brand rooted in the island. The result is a retail concept intended to feel distinctly local rather than like a generic beauty store.
For Utama Spice, the ICON Bali opening also provides an opportunity to explore the mall retail market in Bali, following its presence at Plaza Senayan in Jakarta. The brand hopes the pop-up experience could pave the way for a longer-term retail presence at the destination.
A Growing Retail Journey
The ICON Bali pop-up forms part of Utama Spice’s broader retail development plans. The brand is also preparing to open a new location in Pererenan on October 30, 2026, while a refreshed store concept for Ubud is planned for later this year.
With its combination of botanical formulations, sustainability initiatives and Balinese-inspired design, Utama Spice is positioning the new pop-up as more than a shopping stop. It is an opportunity for visitors to discover how locally rooted beauty products can connect personal care with the natural environment and the communities behind their ingredients.
Open until April 2027, the store invites residents and visitors to explore the brand’s selected best sellers and discover a distinctly Balinese approach to everyday beauty. BWN-07
